Owner, Nino Cioffi is a third generation ice cream maker. His grandfather Augusto Davide opened one of the very first ice cream parlors in Sorrento called DAVIDE IL GELATO. Nino's parents Rosa and Vincenzo continued the tradition by opening their own parlor called BOUGAINVILLEA in 1970, under the management of Nino, his brother and sister, this family tradition was transformed into a sit down restaurant accommodating 300+ guests. Then, in June 2007 Nino set his sights on a new challenge - Canada.
SORRENTO RISTORANTE opened in Toronto that same year and was named one of Toronto's Best in 2009 by toronto.com. In June 2011, Sorrento moved NORTH to Maple where visitors continue to enjoy authentic dishes created by culinary artisans.
